Maggie Mojapelo

Maggie Mojapelo, Founder and Director of The HR Touch, began her career in Human Resources in 1996.

Maggie was employed by Coca-Cola as the Human Resource Director of the South African Business Unit. Prior to joining Nedbank as Human Resource Divisional Executive – Group Technology, she worked for Avon Justine and IBM South Africa respectively.

She has a wealth of experience in all major areas in the Human Resource field which she acquired both locally and internationally.  In her career in HR, she has successfully implemented talent management strategies that assisted organisations to remain competitive and profitable. Maggie is involved in coaching and mentoring HR professionals from different organisations. She is involved in various professional bodies in the HR field. She has been a speaker at different forums both locally and internationally on HR best practices and strategies.

She is an accredited Sirdar Governance Panelist. She has also been recently appointed to the Board of Johannesburg Metropolitan Bus Services (METROBUS) a wholly owned Municipal entity of the City of Johannesburg.

She holds an Honours degree in Education, Management Advancement Program, and Advanced Diploma in Human Resource and she is currently studying her MBA through Henley. She also has attended various international executive programmes.

Getty Simelane

Getty Simelane, Co-Founder and Director of The HR Touch, began her career in Human Resource in 1982.

From 1993 to 2010 held Human Resources Senior/Director level positions in various industries including telecommunications, FMCG and investment banking. She left the corporate world in 2010 and after a six month sabbatical re-established the people effectiveness consultancy, The HR Touch she co-founded in 2006. Key clients are in automotive industry, banking, FMCG, telecoms, parastatals, academic institutions and IT as well as industrial entities.

Currently Getty serves as Board member of the South African Board for Personnel Practice, (SABPP) the body responsible for the accreditation of HR qualifications (ETQA) and professional registration of HR practitioners. She also chairs the Mentoring Subcommittee of the SABPP. She is also on the Boards of the Post Office, South African National Blood Services, Johannesburg Development Agency [current Chairman] and KZN Growth Fund. In the recent past served as Chairman of the board of City Power. She is also an accredited Sirdar Governance Panelist.

Her other experience include: strategic input and leadership as member of the Board of Directors; Mentorship both formal & informal;  Management of executive compensation plans, Chairing Remuneration Committees and Independent Non-Executive for Board Remuneration Committee, Coaching and Mentoring professionals and executive levels. Sourcing and placement of senior executives.

Getty has the following formal qualifications: Bachelor of Arts (Social Work) Unizul, Higher Diploma in Personnel, Management (HDPM) Wits Business School, MPhil, Social Policy, Bath University, UK, and Executive Development Program (EDP) North Western University, US.

She is passionate about Youth Development and currently serve on the Board and is founding director of a section 21 company in Diepsloot, focusing on ABET and technical skills for youth.

Hobbies include hiking, exposure and practice on existential and spiritual growth areas, and physical workout.

Mahlasedi Mojapelo

Mahlasedi Mojapelo is the youngest shareholder and is the brains behind branding and marketing for The HR Touch. She is actively involved in the Recruitment division of The HR Touch.
 
Prior  to  joining  The  HR  Touch,  she  was  a  Junior  Consultant  at  Interbrand  Sampson. Her client list includes companies such as Telkom Mobile – 8.ta.
 
She currently holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing Graduate from The University of Johannesburg, she is currently involved in various initiatives and programmes that seek to empower the youth of South Africa with an education.
